4 wood engravings by Robert Gibbings. No.31 of 1000 copies. Printed in Eric Gill’s Golden Cockerel Face type on English hand-made paper. Quarter green morocco with printed paper covered boards designed by Tirzah Greenwood, top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Spine faded, a little browning and spotting to boards, two booklabels on front pastedown, one with offset to ffep, otherwise a good copy.
The first of the successful ‘Guinea series’ of illustrated modern authors, printed in the new Golden Cockerel type designed especially for Gibbings by his friend Eric Gill.
