Prose translation with introductory essay by Gwyn Jones. 6 colour wood engravings by Dorothea Braby. No. 184 of 300 ordinary copies, signed by the translator and the artist (the total edition was of 360 copies). Printed in Caslon Old Face type on Arnold's mould-made paper. Tall thin 4to., original binding by Sangorski & Sutcliffe of pink and green cloth with design by Braby blocked in gilt on the upper cover, spine lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut. Few small marks to the cloth, a little browning to endpapers and offset from the booklabel on the front pastedown.
A great piece of old English poetry freshly translated into modern prose, elegantly illustrated with Braby's predominantly pink and green wood engravings.
