No. 48 of 500 copies, signed by the author. 4 wood engravings by Lynton Lamb. 8vo., original red morocco backed patterned cloth, top edge gilt, others uncut. Spine very slightly faded, otherwise very good.

A prolific English novelist, born in New Zealand, who was famous in both the US and Britain in the 1920s and 1930s, Walpole has since been a little neglected but is due a rediscovery. These reminiscences are excellently written, absorbing and wise - “I almost think there is no wisdom comparable to that of exchanging what is called the realities of life for dreams”.
