First edition, first printing. 30 lavishly coloured woodblock prints showing ancient textiles, pottery and frescos from Egypt, Assyria, Persia, Greece and Pompeii with the monogram of the artist throughout in the prints. Text in Japanese. 32 leaves. 24.7 x 17.8 cms. Japanese orihon (accordion-style) binding with patterned paper ocverd boards. In a later blue cloth chemise fastened with bone ties. Boards a little rubbed at edges, otherwise an extremely good copy.
