A full box of die cut flower pieces made from tissue paper, together with green leaves, stamens and pistels, stems and wires. Separated into four compartments wiht the original colour tissue lining, and in the original box of patterned paper covered board with a Dutch pictorial label filling the lid. Wear to the lid with repair made presumably by the owner, otherwise a remarkable survival of hundreds of the original flower pieces and bundles of stems and leaves in great condition.
A few of the paper flowers have been started and threaded with wire but most are untouched in original condition. Making paper flowers was a popular activity throughout the 19th century and here is an uncommon survival of a specially made set.
