No. 58 of 170 copies. 6 tipped in illustrations. With 60 samples of book cloth from five makers in Japan, Holland, Italy, and Germany in a leperello style binding. Printed in Bell types by Michael and Winifred Bixler on Frankfurt mouldmade paper. Pp. 83. 8vo., two volumes, bound by Campbell-Logan bindery in brown and green silk cloth with maroon and gilt spine labels, both housed in the original brown cloth slipcase.

Written by the bookbinder Gregory Campbell, the son of Allan Campbell who founded the Campbell-Logan Bindery in 1949 which binds so many fine press books including this one. He describes in detail his experiences in the binding business and talks about many private press printers such as Henry Morris, George Baer and Gaylord Schanilec. Campbell-Logan are also known for their work as library binders and here we have a rare description of this branch of bookbinding.
