No. 53 of 100 sets, signed on the colophon by Barry Moser. 50 signed wood engravings by Barry Moser, printed from the blocks by Harold McGrath on 38 large sheets, each with a conjugate title page and with a 12pp. gathering of title pages, colophon, dedication and “Notes on the Craft of Wood Engraving” by Moser printed in red and black. Folio, loose in the original cloth portfolio with a leather label and a calf backed clamshell box made from the same cloth.

Barry Moser (b.1940) is an American artist and printmaker being particularly known for his phenomenal skills as a wood engraver, for example with his illustrations for Lewis Carroll’s Alice, Moby Dick and his own incredible illustrated bible. He is the owner and printer at Pennyroyal Press which issued this remarkable portfolio.
