With six wood engravings by Eric Gill: ‘Spray of Leaves’, ‘Axe and Block’, ‘Gravestone with an Angel’, ‘Paschal Lamb’, ‘Madonna and Child with Crucifix’ and ‘DP and Cross’. 16 pages. 16 x 12.2. cms, sewn as issued. An extremely bright and fresh untrimmed copy.

There is a two page introduction to the exhibition by Pepler explaining that the exhibition listed here is concerned with Eric Gill’s work at Westminster Cathedral where his scultpures, the XIV Stations of the CrosS now stand. The exhibition, and sale, at the Alpine Club Gallery, included all Gill’s preliminary drawings for the sculptures.
Included in the exhibition were 5 books, 21 wood engravings and 13 stone inscriptions by Gill and his apprentices.
