No. 10 of 21 copies. 7 tipped in photographs. Printed in 12D Spectrum metal type with Hunt Roman display using ‘Bedsheet Blue’, ‘Coffee Sack’ and ‘Hemp papers, the product of a first week of papermaking in September 2023. Type setting, paper, photography, printing and binding all done by Nick Gill. Pp. 18. Original brown cloth with printed paper label on upper cover, endpapers of handmade hemp paper by the author. Very good.
Included is a folded yellow card booklet entitled ‘Samples from A first week of papermaking’ which includes a photograph of the papermaking equipment in the back yard and samples of ‘Coffee Sack’, ‘Hemp’ and ‘Bedsheet blue’ paper.
A very amusing account of Nick Gill’s journey into papermaking from what he calls his ‘Nick Fill Centre for Infinite Side Quests’ which appealed to his enjoyment of ‘making nice things and repetitive tasks’. He was hooked and at the end of the book sets out his plan for the ‘Very-Distant Future”: “A papermaking room in our purpose-built studio. Fame and fortune”.
