TRIANON PRESS. BLAKE, William. ~ The Song of Los.
One of 32 de luxe copies with the extra plates showing the progressive stages of the collotype and hand-stencil process. The total edition was limited to 432 copies. 8 plates printed at the Trianon Press using the collotype and hand-stencil process, 8 pp. commentary by Keynes with another plate, plus 22 additional progressive proof plates for plate 7, and with a metal pochoir stencil mounted at the end. Large 4to., original full brown morocco, housed in the original morocco edges marbled paper covered slipcase. A couple of tiny spots to upper covers and very mild fading to spine, otherwise an extremely good bright copy.
One of the richest and most elaborate of the Trianon Press Blake facsimiles.
The Song of Los, dated 1795, is closely related to The Book of Urizen and the one off Books of Los and Ahania. It chronologically precedes the Prophecies of America and Europe although these had been published earlier.
