Excellent satirical drawings by Tegetmeier, Gill calls them “funny or bitter..and not their meaning only, but also, and chiefly, the actual lines of which they are made...God alone knows whetehr the Seven Deadly Virtues, as here envisaged, are not seven mortal sins.” The Virtues, here Humility, Chastity, Diligence, Brotherly Love, Temperance, Liberality and Meekness, are each illustrated by 6 drawings with quotations.
