KELMSCOTT PRESS. MORRIS, William. ~ The Tale of The Emperor Coustans and of Over Sea.
One of 500 copies printed on paper, in black and red in Chaucer type by William Morris at his Kelmscott Press. Small 8vo, bound by Zaehnsdorf in extremely attractive full green morocco ornately decorated with fine folliate tooling in gilt on both sides, spine in compartments with gilt decoration in each panel and gilt lettering, turn-ins decorated with gilt leaf sprays, top edge gilt, others uncut, signed by Zaehsndorf in gilt on upper turn-in, green silk endpapers, original wrappers bound in. A very good pretty copy with the usual darkening to this shade of green morocco to the spine and edges with immaculate repair to joints.
This tale of love, faith and chivalry was translated by Morris from the medieval French text. A very elegant copy.
