Translated from the Latin by Sir G.K. Richards. This section from Virgil’s masterpiece, the ‘Aeneid’, deals with Aeneas’ encounters important Romans from earlier times in the realm of the departed. It was the model for Dante’s ‘Divine Comedy’ in which Virgil lead Dante through a similar excursion.
