The diary of an Oxford undergraduate George Tonge, recounting his tour the Mediterranean by boat in 1857. His 10 week journey took him to Gibraltar, Genoa, Pisa, Naples, Vesuvius, Pompeii, Corinth, Athens, Vastitza and back via Algiers.
