No. 48 of 50 signed copies handcoloured by the artist. 12 handcoloured aquatints by John Piper printed by the Alexander brothers in Henrietta Street in Covent Garden. Large oblong folio, in the original half red cloth and marbled paper covered boards with printed paper label on upper cover. Slight rubbing to the very edges but an extremely good copy housed in a box specially made for JR Abbey with his arms in blue morocco and gilt on the upper cover. Booklabel of JR Abbey on the front pastedown and with his shelf and purchase markings in ink at the back.
The introduction is by Lord Alfred Douglas who lived in Brighton at that time. Each image has a short but fully felt description by the artist.
