Line of title page and entire paragraph concerning the visit to a golden printing office printed using gold leaf, rest printed in Cochin Monotype and Engravers type on Curtis Rag paper. 8vo., original full black cloth blocked in gilt. Small bump on upper cover, otherwise very good.
A reprint of the first novel written by an American to be set in California. Aurifodina is a fantasy utopian country inhabited by a race of golden haired people who live in a dream world where gold is abundant and of little value. Our copy has a facsimile map of the gold regions printed by the Huntington Library tipped in at the front. Prospectus inserted loose.
