Cary and the Press of the Woolly Whale’ at the Cary Graphic Arts Collection, Wallace Library, Rochester Institute of Technology. Set in Rudolph Koch’s Koch Antiqua type. 4 pp folded, with the note on type and illustrations used in the invitation inserted loose. A very good example of this Woolly Whale ephemera.
The illustration on the front of the invitation was originally drawn by Fritz Kredel, and was one of series he created for a 1938 Woolly Whale edition of ‘Schnitzelbank’, ‘an old German song, with some of its verses revised to mirror the activities & idiosyncrasies of the publishers’.
